Casio G-Shock New Releases
A reminder of the devastation caused by the March 11th Earthquake and Tsunami. A tiny side note appeared on Casio‘s Japanese website the very next day stated apologetically that the Ootakadoya-yama station, one of two atomic time transmission point in Japan, been suspended due to its proximity to the stricken nuclear power plant at Fukushima. Despite of the toll, in physical structures, monetary damages, long-term psyche, and the lives lost, most in Japan are urging a return to normalcy and picking up where they left off, quite evident in the new April 2011 releases of Casio G-Shock.
Supreme – Japan Benefit T-Shirt
In that now “mythological” interview by Glenn O’Brien of Interview Magazine, Supreme’s founder James Jebbia lauded the importance of Japan to the brand. Then, there is little doubt how the ongoing tragedy is affecting Jebbia and the rest of the Supreme organization. To them, it isn’t about the financial aspects. Some of Supreme‘s closest associates and friends felt the devastations personally, thus makes this benefit t-shirt all the more important. By footing the initial cost, Supreme will donate all 100% of the profit from sale to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
ALIFE & Casio G-Shock Present G-5500AL-1JR
Casio and ALIFE have teamed up on a G-Shock collaboration, based on a model that gets a bit less attention in the overall G-Shock lineup, and certainly one that is a more rare choice for collaboration. The G-5500AL-1JR has a simpler, more angular profile than many of it’s counterparts. It does, however, share their useful features (too many to list in full here), along with a Tough Solar charging system.
