Vogue: Tilda Swinton Likes It Like This
The statuesque, clementine-haired Tilda Swinton swept through New York last week to open her new film, Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love, and to fête her new fragrance—a commercial venture with a decidedly uncommercial story. It is called Like This, and it is a collaboration with Etat Libre d’Orange, the French fragrance house known for such unorthodox scents as Vraie Blonde, Encens et Bubblegum, and a handful of more subversive titles best consulted on the company Web site. Swinton came into contact with the Etat Libre boys by way of the Spanish actress Rossy de Palma, a friend who had worked with them on her own scent, Eau de Protection.
Vogue Cover: Gwyneth Paltrow
One day a few months ago, I was told that Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow had written a cookbook, and I was asked if I would like to write about it. After all, food is my field. Eating is my business. The idea was that I would spend some time cooking with Paltrow. As you might imagine, this could be a perilous assignment. If I discovered that Paltrow’s cooking was all pretense or, even worse, not very good to eat, I’d be trapped. She was scheduled for the August cover. Nobody would care to read a story disclosing that Gwyneth Paltrow is a bad cook. I would need to lie. But in sharp contrast to my everyday behavior, I never lie in my writing, and I certainly wouldn’t want to start now. The whole idea was impossibly risky.

Mymu Espadrilles and Misela Totes
Gabriela Lanardonne and Serra Turker met over brunch in New York two years ago and have remained fast friends ever since. Subsequently and quite coincidentally, the two have each launched their own accessory lines: Turker a line of bags, and Lanardonne, a line of espadrilles.
