6 Things You Can Do Each Day To Stay Motivated

Without motivation, you may lack the excitement to get through your day. And we find ourselves distracted and uninspired. Fortunately, there’s something you can do about that. Here are 6 things you can do each day to stay motivated:

  • Start the Day with Energizing Music

What music instantly picks you up? Is it pop music that makes you want to dance? Or is soulful instrumentals? Listening to invigorating music in the morning is a great way to start your day. Whatever type of music it is, it should fill you with energy and give your mood a boost.

  • Dress with a Purpose

When you dress like a winner, you feel like a winner. It may seem a bit superficial, but when you dress right and dress well, you instantly feel better. If you dress like a slob, then you’ll probably feel like one too.

You may be surprised to know that some people who work from home still get up at the same time, take a shower, and get dressed up before they start their day. This is because they’ve discovered that they’re less productive when they work in their pajamas and don’t follow a routine.

  • Eliminate Distractions

People complain about how they were distracted and therefore, couldn’t finish what they were doing. The truth is, disturbances are not the problem but rather, your refusal or failure to do something about it. It’s simple; don’t give into the distractions. Either remove it or walk away from it. Don’t give it the power to derail you.

For example, if you know that your phone is your biggest distraction, put it somewhere you can’t easily reach it and commit to not scrolling through your social media feeds until after you’re done with what you need to do.

  • Promise Yourself Rewards

There’s nothing more motivating than knowing you’ve got a prize waiting for you when you accomplish a task. The difference is that these are rewards that you promise yourself. We get things done faster and more efficiently when you have something to look forward to.

  • Take Breaks

You’re not a robot; you deserve breaks. Maybe even a nap. Breaks are a great way to rejuvenate you when you start to lose steam. Grab a coffee with a friend, take a power nap, or even go for a walk outside.

  • Be In the Right Mindset for Tomorrow Before Going to Sleep

Want to wake up in the morning with a sense of purpose? Start with the night before. Before you go to sleep, think about the tasks for the next day. Map out your day. Include your mindset, how you will positively handle roadblocks, and how you intend to reward yourself at the end of the day.
